Harness Training

This course is designed for individuals who are required to carry out low-risk work at height activities under supervision while using a safety harness and lanyard. Delegates will gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely at height and to correctly use fall protection personal protective equipment (FPPE).

The course covers the different types of FPPE, including full body harnesses, safety lanyards, connectors, fall arrest devices, and suitable anchor systems. Delegates will also learn how to carry out thorough pre-use inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment is safe and fit for use.

Falls from height remain the leading cause of workplace fatalities and serious injuries. This training provides delegates with the awareness and understanding required to minimise risk and follow safe working practices in line with current legislation.

On successful completion of the course, delegates will have an understanding of the Working at Height Regulations 2005 and safe systems of work, including work restraint, work positioning, and fall arrest techniques.

The course includes practical assessments covering pre-use equipment inspections and the correct fitting and use of a safety harness, together with a multiple-choice assessment paper.

A certificate of attendance, valid for three years, will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
